Ultimate Travel 2.0 bag pattern #PBA251-2
The perfect travel companion, this functional bag includes a comfortable padded adjustable carrying strap and quick-grab side handles, as well as a handy trolley sleeve on back to secure the bag to rolling luggage. Zippered and slip pockets on the front, back, and ends plus a full-height zippered pocket and three more slip pockets inside will keep everything organized and close at hand.
The bag measures 13.75in (H) x 14.5in (L) x 4.5in (D) at the top and 13.75in (H) x 18.5in (L) x 8in (D) at bottom.
NOTE TO SHOP OWNERS: Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 is an update of Ultimate Travel Bag which was released in 2016. Just like a new edition of a textbook, this new version of the pattern features improved design and layout, easier-to-follow steps and diagrams, and our newest and best techniques.
We have also filmed an Add-On Video for the project to help you and your customers make the handbag. Since the Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 pattern includes a coupon to get the Add-On Video at no charge, we would recommend that they purchase the new and improved version of the pattern.
CLASS INFO: Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 makes a great class for all levels of sewists, from beginners to more advanced makers. We'd suggest two half-day classes OR a full-day class for this project. If you split it into two classes, have the students prepare the components in the first class and assemble the bag in the second class. We recommend that students come to class with their fabric quilted and everything cut out for their project. So, they should complete all of step I. Cut and Quilt on pages 2 and 3 of the pattern before coming to class.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO TEACHERS: We have eliminated the Back Strap and added a Trolley Sleeve on the 2.0 version of this bag. That meant some changes in dimensions and markings for the front and back pockets.
If you teach classes and have students working from both the original and the 2.0 patterns, remind students to carefully follow the cutting. marking, and assembly instructions in the pattern which they are using.
